Mr. Keith Bailey, age 78, of Blairsville formerly Covington passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024.  Keith was the pride and joy born to Claude Winford Bailey and Elizabeth Evelyn Mitchem Bailey on June 10, 1945 in the small town of Porterdale Georgia.  He is proceeded in death by his beloved wife Retter Sue Price Bailey, Mother Evelyn Bailey & Father Winford Bailey, his mother and father in-laws Juritta Helton Price and Hugh Price, and a very special brother-in-law Timmy Price, all of Covington, Georgia.

Keith is survived by his loving daughter Greta Bailey Miller and her husband Joel Miller, who Keith always referred to as a son and “Man of Integrity”. Also grieving him, a Brother-in-Christ Gary (Kathy) Bradford, his grandchildren; Tyler & Ashley Miller, Bailey & Erin Miller, Bradley Miller & Lindsey and Ryleigh Miller & Clay. Keith’s great grand-babies were his Little Rays of Sunshine; Cayden & Braxton Miller, Aubree Miller, Jaymes & Nola Kate Miller. Keith immensely loved his brother in-laws and sister in-laws; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews, neighbors, friends and family near and far who will miss him and his stories greatly.

Keith Bailey was a devoted Georgia Bulldawg fan & esteemed Pharmacy Alum of The University of Georgia. Keith’s unwavering dedication to his Alma mater and community left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was a pillar of support for his beloved Bulldawgs, cheering them on through victories and defeats with unmatched enthusiasm. Keith’s love and generosity knew no bounds. He cherished spending time with his family, creating memories that will endure for generations to come. Keith’s kindness and genuine warmth endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Keith Bailey’s journey began amidst the Southern charm of his hometown in Porterdale, Georgia. Keith's path intertwined fatefully with his best friend Randy Price, who introduced him to the love of his life, Retter Price. Together, Keith and Retter embarked on a beautiful journey, raising a family all the while Keith pursed his passion in Pharmacy, Graduating from The University of Georgia. Keith enjoyed his career working for Professional Court and Standard Pharmacy. Keith & Retter with their family were the proud owners of a beloved store and pharmacy, BuyWise, enriching the lives of their community in their hometown. He spent countless hours happily working in his family’s business endeavors, Bailey’s Skating Rink & Bailey’s Grocery. Spending many nights practicing Drums with his band, skating and playing the latest albums for the young community at the skating rink.

In 1986, Keith embarked on a new chapter with his family, finding solace and joy in the serene mountains of Blairsville, Georgia. There, they established Goose Creek, where Keith and Retter's love blossomed and their family flourished. Spending many days fishing the trout ponds, collecting coins & memories, tending to Goose Creek vacationers and making life long friends along the way.

Throughout life's trials and tribulations, Keith's steadfast faith in the Lord illuminated his path, guiding him through even the darkest of days. His unwavering trust and devotion serve as a testament to his strength of character and the depth of his spirit. Keith's legacy of love, faith, and perseverance will forever inspire those who had the privilege of sharing in his journey.

Although we are deeply saddened by the loss of a remarkable man, we find comfort in knowing he is now peacefully resting in the arms of his Lord & Savior. Friends and Family, in honor of our beloved Gramps, we kindly ask that you wear Georgia Bulldawg red and black as a symbol of remembrance and love during this time of mourning. Thank you for joining us in honoring his memory in this special way.

Funeral services for Keith will be held at 3 o’clock on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Allen Vickery officiating and Shane Millwood providing music.  Interment will be held at 4 o’clock Monday, February 26, 2024 at Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville with Pastor Stacy Dyer officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
