Mrs. Sharpe was born in Vineland, New Jersey, and moved to Kingsport, Tennessee where she graduated from Ketron High School. She continued her education attending Clayton State College. Mrs. Sharpe carried the values of hard work, perseverance, and determination throughout her life, and those qualities were reflected in the way she cared for her family and served others. She was known as a woman of strength and grace, and she met each season of life with dignity and purpose.
For many years, Mrs. Sharpe served as a certified nursing assistant at Emory University Hospital. In that role, she offered comfort, compassion, and steady care to countless patients and families. Her work reflected her generous heart and her natural desire to help others. She was respected by those who worked beside her and appreciated by those whose lives she touched through her service.
Outside of her work, Mrs. Sharpe found joy in gardening, reading, antiquing, writing stories, and spending time with her grandchildren. These interests brought her peace and happiness, and they also reflected the thoughtful and curious nature that made her so special. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, and her love for her family was evident in all that she did.
Mrs. Sharpe was preceded in death by her parents, Kyle and Mildred Jenkins; her son, Jackie Walters; her sister, Sandra Robinson; and her great-grandchild, Lunette Kelley. She is survived by her husband, Jim Sharpe; her children, Tina Kelley (Thom), Mathea Elliott (Mitch), Terry Sharpe, Stephenie Burk, and Sondra Fowler; her sister, Jo Ella Carter (Earl); her 12 grandchildren; her numerous great-grandchildren; and her two nieces. She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to cherish her memory and honor the example she set.
Mrs. Kylene Sharpe will be remembered as a smart, tough, and active woman whose life was defined by love, family, and faithful service. Her presence brought warmth and strength to those around her, and her memory will remain a lasting blessing to her family and friends. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of kindness, resilience, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
