Larry Daniel Obituary

Mr. Larry Franklin Daniel, age 79, of Oxford, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, Larry lived a life rooted in faith, kindness, and a genuine love for others.

Larry loved God deeply and carried his Bible with him throughout his life. He adored his family, especially his beloved wife of 60 years, Valerie Daniel, whom he affectionately called “Darlingness,” “Sweet Lady,” and “Little Precious.” His playful spirit and tender nicknames reflected the devotion and joy they shared.

He is survived by his children, Cynthia Paige Daniel, Julie Carol Fancher (Matt), and Wesley Daniel (Sherry); grandchildren, Sydney Bishop (Ben), Lindsey Jensen (David), Garrett Fancher, Sofie Mostafa, Nadia Mostafa, Carson Gilreath (Hayden), Parker Daniel (Kailey Moncrief), and Reece Daniel; and great‑grandchildren, Teagan Bishop, Henry Bishop, and Lainey Jensen. He is also survived by his sisters, Sherrie Peacock and Benita Moore, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Irma Daniel, his siblings, Ricky Daniel, Wanda Moyers, Lyndon Davis, and Alan Davis.

A man of many passions, Larry loved music—especially the oldies—and delighted in making up songs of his own. He was a devoted fan of the Swingin’ Medallions and could light up a room with his humor and creativity. He cherished his wife, loved studying his Bible, and had a lifelong curiosity for learning, especially in the areas of health and science.

Larry had a gift for caring for others. He spent countless hours helping elderly clients with their healthcare needs, often meeting them at his favorite spot, Chick‑fil‑A, to make them feel comfortable and valued. His patience, understanding, and genuine concern earned him the love and trust of those he served.

He enjoyed UGA football, playing golf, and was well known for his remarkable tomatoes. Larry grew them from seed, and if he found a tomato he especially liked, he would slice it open, pair the seeds, and create his own hybrid—an example of both his curiosity and his knack for making things flourish.

Larry’s life was defined by love—love for God, love for his family, and love for the people he encountered every day. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will continue to bring comfort, laughter, and inspiration.
