Linda Lorene (Bouchillon) Walden

WALDEN, LINDA BOUCHILLON…Linda Lorene Bouchillon Walden passed away May 23, 2024 at the age of 85. Linda was born August 29, 1938, the daughter of William L. “Bill” Bouchillon and Michele Malcom. She was a native of Covington and her love of the town continued throughout her life. She was proud to have served the city officially as an employee at Covington City Hall for 28 and a half years, her last six as City Clerk prior to her retirement in 1996. Linda spent a great deal of her time tracing family genealogy for the Bouchillon, Malcom and Walden families. Each connection discovered was a celebration and much time was spent traveling to various towns and cemeteries.

She met her future husband in 1954 and married Eugene “Gene” L. Walden one year later. They were married for 46 years before Gene’s passing in 2001.

She loved reading, cooking and baking (including her self-proclaimed “disasters” which were still better than most), dogs, horses, Western movies, true crime shows and the Georgia Bulldogs. More than all things combined, she loved her family. Known as Bink to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was so proud of each of them. She was a true Southern lady: beautiful, poised, refined, impeccably mannered with a will made of steel.

She will be missed by all who loved her. Linda is survived by daughter, Alison W. Davis (Mark); sons, Lee Walden (Kelly) and Todd Walden (Angie); grandchildren, Ashley Morrow (Mike), Chase Davis (Anna Jo), Grace Walden and Nate Walden. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Alex Morrow, Sloan and Josie Davis; siblings, June Randall, Wayne Bouchillon (LaJuana), and Ginger Byrd; siblings-in-law, Ed Walden and Larry Walden, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and her faithful companion, Sassie.

Funeral services for Mrs. Walden will be held at 2 o’clock, Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday prior to the service. Donations made be made in Linda’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the Newton County Animal Shelter.
