Lisa Parker Obituary

Lisa Michelle Parker, age 54, of Covington, Georgia, passed away on June 26, 2025, in Athens, Georgia, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on April 15, 1971, in Covington, Georgia, Lisa was the beloved daughter of Glenn and Virginia “Ginger” Parker and the cherished sister of Glenn Lee Parker Jr. (Sarah). She was the proud aunt of Braden, Penelope, Quintin, and Isabella Parker, and was deeply loved by many close friends and extended family.

Lisa lived anything but a “normal” life. Born with a significant birth defect, doctors initially advised against intervention due to a predicted low quality of life. Thankfully, her parents fought for her, and Lisa defied all odds—living a rich, full life for 54 beautiful years.

Though her body bore limitations, her spirit knew none. She filled her days with joy, strength, laughter, and plenty of sweet tea. A steadfast friend, radiant source of love, and tireless encourager, Lisa’s presence was a gift to all who knew her.

Lisa loved to travel. She often found herself at the beach or in the mountains—places where she felt the freedom and beauty of God’s creation most clearly. She treasured those moments deeply, and her only regret in leaving this world was that she didn’t get to visit the beach one more time.

A bold and persistent evangelist, Lisa never hesitated to share her faith. Her witness drew many—including both of her grandfathers—back to the Lord. Her faith was foundational and lived out with contagious courage and hope.

An avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan, Lisa was always ready to watch a game—any game—so long as friends and family were by her side.

Her life beautifully reminded us that God often uses the most fragile vessels to reveal His greatest strength, beauty, and grace.

Her family grieves the deep loss—there is now a “Lisa-shaped hole”—but they rejoice in the sure hope that she is fully healed and in the care of her Savior.
