Lorraine Pino Obituary

Mrs. Lorraine A. Pino, age 76, a long-time resident of Homestead Florida, passed away December 19, 2020 in Covington Georgia where she and her husband Genaro had recently relocated.  Lorraine was born on August 15, 1944 in Bronx New York to Edwin and Anna Ratti.  Her dad Edwin passed away when Lorraine was only one year old.  When Lorraine was 3, her mother remarried and Lorraine was adopted, loved and raised by her new daddy, Mario Montenegro. Her parents and her dear in-laws, Theresa and Phil Pino, have preceded her in death, Lorraine grew up in North Miami, Florida and graduated from St. Patrick's High School on Miami Beach. She married the love of her life, Genaro Pino, in 1964, and they went on to have two daughters.

Lorraine was a deeply devoted mother and grandmother, sharing in her family's daily lives whenever at all possible. She rejoiced at the birth of each of her 16 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A long-time parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Homestead, she was active in parish life, running the "Italian Booth" at the church festival with her husband for many years. Lorraine was a daily communicant and an active member of the Women's Club. Lorraine was a Third Order Lay Dominican, and a member of the Schoenstatt Mother's League. She had a long career as a lab technician, working for many years at the Homestead Medical Center and then James Archer Smith Hospital.  She enjoyed her work, but enjoyed retirement even more because it meant she could spend more time with her daughters and grandchildren.

Mrs. Pino is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Genaro Pino, her beloved Aunt Lillian Kapeller, her two brothers James and Larry Montenegro, her children Theresa Kuehne (Christopher) of Covington and Katherine McCormick (Tyrus) of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, her grandchildren Aaron Kuehne, Rebekah Kuehne, Brittany Schmidt (Casey), Sarah Kuehne, Jacob McCormick (Amanda), Mary Kuehne, Hannah Greasamar (Zane), Elizabeth Kuehne, Julianne McCormick, Joshua Kuehne, Charles McCormick, Joseph Kuehne, Ethan McCormick, Audrey McCormick, Lois McCormick, Isaac McCormick, as well as two great granddaughters Amelia Greasamar, and Elaina McCormick, and a host of other family and friends.
