Louise Wilson Obituary

Mrs. Emily Louise Burnham Wilson, aged 88, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 10, 2019, after a long and joyful life.  Louise was born in East Point, GA, to Frances Etlylene Avery and Charles Burr Burnhan and had a beloved sister, Virginia.

Louise graduated from Russell High School where she first met the future love of her life, Amos Paul Wilson.  After graduation, Louise worked for Southern Bell in the accounting department.  Although they knew each other in high school, it was when Paul returned home after his first Navy deployment that they started dating.  And in 1953 after Paul’s second deployment, Louise and Paul married and, prior to Paul’s passing last year, had celebrated 65 years of marriage.

All of her life, Louise’s priorities has been her faith and her family – helping her beloved Paul as wife and best friend, raising three happy, healthy children, and being involved in work and church. Louise retired from AT&T in 1986 after 36 years of service, rising through the system to become a senior accounting manager.  She has always loved her church families, wherever she has lived – teaching Sunday School and singing in the Church Choir.   Louise loved traveling, reading, eating out, family gatherings, volunteering and cross word puzzles.  One of her favorite volunteer experiences was as a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Venice, Fl.

Louise is survived by her sister in law, Martha W. Williams; her three children Paula Harvey (James), Mark Wilson (Cathy S.) and Charles Wilson (Cathy H.); 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.   Louise was blessed with many family members and friends – she was well loved and will be missed.  Louise’s last words expressed her love for her family and her readiness to go home and join Paul in God’s Kingdom.

Funeral services for Louise will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at the Chapel of J.C.
