Lynn Mozley Obituary

"In Loving Memory of Mrs. Lynn Mozley
Celebrating a Life of Laughter, Creativity, and Love

It is with both sadness and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Mrs. Lynn Mozley, 82, of Porterdale—formerly of Cobb County—who passed away on November 7, 2025. To know Lynn was to know light, laughter, and creativity. She filled every space she entered with warmth, wit, and an unmistakable spark that made ordinary moments unforgettable.

Born on January 18, 1943, in Denver, Colorado, Lynn grew up surrounded by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains—a backdrop that matched her adventurous spirit. Those early years shaped her lifelong appreciation for art, music, and exploration, and she carried that sense of wonder wherever life took her.

Lynn shared fifty beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, D.W. Mozley. Together, they traveled the world hand in hand, collecting stories, souvenirs, and shared laughter along the way. Their love was genuine and steady—a partnership built on curiosity, joy, and a deep respect for one another.

Her professional journey as a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines suited her perfectly—gracious, unflappable, and always ready with a smile. She loved the skies, the people she met, and the chance to see new places. Lynn made friends everywhere she went, leaving behind not just memories but genuine connections that lasted a lifetime.

Lynn’s creativity was boundless. Whether at the piano, with a paintbrush in hand, or cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, she poured her heart into all she did. She approached life with curiosity and playfulness—quick to laugh, quick to listen, and never afraid to try something new. She was a master of making every gathering more fun, every story more vivid, every day a little brighter.

Lynn was always on the move. In her younger years, she was an avid skier who felt right at home on the slopes. Later, she became a valued tennis partner and one of the first in her circle to embrace the new sport of pickleball, bringing her trademark laughter and competitive spirit to every match.

Most importantly, Lynn was a woman of deep faith. She loved Jesus and lived out her beliefs through kindness, generosity, and the way she treated others. Her steady faith anchored her joyful spirit and gave her the strength to face every season of life with grace and gratitude.

Lynn's family and friends will miss dearly her warmth, laughter, and love. She was the kind of aunt who made you feel like you were her favorite (and maybe, in your heart, you were). She leaves behind her beloved niece, Diane Tatt of Conyers; numerous great, great-great, and even 4 great-great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of friends who became like family.

Lynn’s life was a beautiful mosaic—colorful, joyful, and full of heart. We will remember her for her laughter that could fill a room, her endless creativity, and her generous spirit that made life richer for all who knew her. Though she has taken her final adventure, her love and light remain with us always."

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 o'clock, Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Covington First United Methodist Church in the Wesley Chapel located at 2160 Church Street, Covington, GA with The Reverend Doctor Jan McCoy officiating.
