Mrs. Margie Ann Kimball passed away on March 31, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on December 22, 1949, she lived a life marked by devotion to her family, quiet strength, and a warm spirit that touched all who knew her.
Margie was a woman who treasured the simple and meaningful parts of life. She found her greatest joy in loving and spending time with her grandbabies, and her family was the center of her world. Her home and heart were filled with the laughter, milestones, and everyday moments shared with those she loved most. She had a special gift for making others feel cared for, and her presence brought comfort, encouragement, and a sense of belonging to her family and friends.
She also enjoyed putting flower arrangements and wreaths together, a pastime that reflected her patience, creativity, and attention to detail. Through this work, she expressed her thoughtful nature and her appreciation for beauty in the everyday. Margie also loved the Atlanta Braves Baseball, and she followed the team with genuine enthusiasm.
Margie is survived by her husband of 30 years, Curtis Kimball; her children, Tammy Kenney and her husband Jason, Tonya Underwood and her husband Adel, Krystal Chapman and her husband Jared, and Deann Mattheus; her grandchildren, Jessie Barrington, Jr., Jasper Underwood, and Danielle Cochran; and her great-grandchildren, Memphis, Jaxon, and Parker Cochran. She is also survived by her sister, Mildred Patterson, and by Tammy Brown, who was like a daughter to her and part of the family for 43 years. The love she shared with each of them will remain a lasting part of their lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Daisy Durden; her grandsons, Matthew Brent Layfield and Dustin Britt Layfield; and her brothers, Eugene Durden, Horace Durden, Gerald Durden, and Sydney Durden. Their memories were held close to her heart throughout her life, and she now rests in eternal peace with those who went before her.
Margie’s life was a testament to faithfulness, love, and family devotion. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her steady presence, and the many ways she cared for those around her.
