Marina Jean (Whicker) Coody

Marina Jean Whicker Coody, age 89, was born on August 14, 1934 in Ten Mile Bank, Norfolk, England and was raised by her parents Arthur and Annie Whicker in Hilgay, England.  She passed away on July 13, 2024.

Mrs. Coody married James R. Coody on October 2, 1954 in Hilgay, England and resided in Covington, Georgia from 1956 until her death. 

She is predeceased by her parents, all seven siblings, her husband, and one infant child.  She leaves behind her daughter Tina Neese, son in law Terry Neese, four grandchildren Amelia and her husband Taylor, Will, Zach, and Ava, and one great granddaughter Vivienne, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Marina retired from Newton County School System and was a member of Lovejoy United Methodist Church. She loved animal, gardening, and walking.

Graveside service for Mrs. Coody will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Lovejoy Church Cemetery with Reverend Gil Gainer officiating.  The family ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Lovejoy United Methodist Church, 12835 GA Hwy 36, Covington, GA 30014 or your local humane society.
