Mrs. Marjorie Ann Adams passed away on April 29, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born on September 11, 1939, and lived a life marked by devotion, grace, and steadfast love for those around her. Her presence brought comfort and warmth to her family, and her memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew her.
Marjorie was a woman of quiet strength and enduring kindness. She carried herself with dignity and compassion, and she touched many lives through the gentle way she cared for others. Those who knew her will remember her as someone who valued family, friendship, and faith, and who met life’s joys and challenges with patience and resilience. Her life reflected a deep appreciation for the simple and meaningful things that make a home, a family, and a community strong.
She loved to read and found joy in the comfort and knowledge that books provided. Sewing was another of her treasured interests, and she took satisfaction in creating with her hands and in the care that she put into every detail. Marge and her late husband met in Athens at a UGA football game and soon became devoted fans of UGA football and each other. They shared many happy moments cheering for the Bulldogs together. Their enthusiasm for the team was part of the many memories that brought laughter and connection to their lives. She and her late husband were also active members of Covington First United Methodist Church, where their faith and fellowship were an important part of their lives.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul K. Adams, her daughter, Stephanie Adams Dieumegarde, and her parents, Rosemary Willard and Henry Maddox, Jr. She carried the love of those family members with her throughout her life, and their memories remained close to her heart. Though their earthly presence is no longer with her, the bonds they shared continue in the lives of those who remain.
She is survived by her son-in-law, Rick Dieumegarde, her sister, Jane Blake, numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and her close friend, Nancee Tomlinson. Each of them held a special place in her life, and she will be remembered with affection and gratitude by all who were blessed to know her. Her family and friends will cherish the memories of her kindness, her steady spirit, and the love she gave so freely.
A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11 o’clock at Covington First United Methodist Church. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these services.
