Mark Holloway Bishop Obituary
Mark Holloway Bishop passed away on July 6, 2026, in Covington, Georgia, at the age of 67.
Born on July 3, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia, he lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a spirited love for the people and places that mattered most to him. He carried himself with quiet strength and a warm presence, and those who knew him will remember his steady nature, his good humor, and the pride he took in a life well lived.
Mr. Bishop was a licensed plumber and a dedicated member of the Atlanta Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 72 for 47 years. His long career reflected not only his skill and reliability, but also his deep commitment to honest work and the value of serving others with integrity. He was respected by those who worked alongside him and appreciated for the experience and dependability he brought to every job.
Outside of work, Mark enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, which brought him his greatest joy. He especially treasured the moments shared with those closest to him, and he found happiness in the simple, meaningful rhythms of everyday life. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them was evident in all he did.
When he was younger, Mark was also a professional wrestler in his spare time, a chapter of his life that reflected his energy, confidence, and larger-than-life spirit. He even still holds the championship belt in Porterdale, a lasting reminder of that memorable part of his story. It was one more example of the unique and colorful life he led, and it added to the many stories his loved ones will continue to share.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, his brother Michael Bishop, his sister Jackie Joiner, and his nephew Jason Joiner. He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Shelia Bishop; his daughter, Emily Bishop of Covington; his sons, Daniel Bishop and his wife Kateri of Social Circle, and Matthew Bishop of Covington; his sister, Joyce Farmer of Colorado; and his grandchildren, Riley Bishop, Dylan Bishop, Jordan Bishop, Michael Bishop, and Kevin Lester, all of Covington, Dawson Worthington of Sandy Springs and Kobi Worthington of Woodstock. He is also survived by his beloved “grand dogs,” Chap, Amora, Luna, and Isabella, who were a cherished part of the family he held dear.
Mark’s life was one of devotion, resilience, and love. He will be remembered for the strong bonds he built, the work he accomplished, and the lasting impression he left on those fortunate enough to know him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever carry forward the love and legacy he leaves behind.
