Mr. Mark F. Garrett, age 77, passed away peacefully in his sleep after an extensive illness on Saturday, September 28, 2024. He was cared for by the wonderful staff at Great Oaks Memory Care in Monroe, Ga. Mr. Garrett was born on February 2, 1947 to Harry and Louise Garrett who have preceded him in death.

Mark Garrett was self-employed as a Manufacturer’s Rep of building materials for 30 years. He was a loving, kind man who cared greatly for his family. Mark chauffeured many a horse trailer to dressage shows for his daughter Christi, and was known to support son Brian in Scout activities, and even spelunking in younger years. Mark supported wife Lynn in many years of service to the Georgia Federation of Women’s Club, specifically The Service Guild of Covington. Mark Garrett was a generous man who supported many charitable organizations. One of Lynn’s fondest memories was a first date, before their marriage when Mark gave his last $5 bill to a needy street person. Mr. Garrett had a passion for cars, pets and all animals. Mark Garrett was never without a smile for everyone he met. Mark was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Covington.

Mr. Garrett is survived by his wife of 57 years, Reba Lynn Garrett; children: son Patrick Brian Garrett and Donna of Loxahatchee, Florida, daughter Christi Garrett Quagliata and Richard Scott of Troy, Virginia; grandchildren, Garrett Quagliata of Troy, Virginia, and Eva Danielle Quagliata Dodson and husband Alex of Crozet, Virginia, and many other family members and close friends. A Memorial Service for Mr. Garrett will be held by the family at a later date.
