Mrs. Martha Goss Dial, a cherished soul known for her loving nature and nurturing spirit, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on October 27, 1943, in Kingston, Georgia, to John and Ida Goss who have preceded her in death. Martha's life was a testament to the joy and warmth she brought to all who knew her.
Martha dedicated over 15 years of service to the United States Postal Service, where her diligence and kindness touched the lives of colleagues and community members alike. Her work ethic and commitment to her role were evident in the meticulous care with which she handled every task. Beyond her professional life, Martha's passion was to travel. A lover of literature she enjoyed reading in her spare time. In the kitchen, Martha's cooking was a labor of love, and her dishes were a favorite among family and friends. Martha's heart, however, belonged to her family. She adored her grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with. As a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church, Martha's faith was a guiding force in her life. She lived her beliefs through acts of kindness and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. Martha Goss Dial's legacy is one of love, service, and the gentle strength that characterized her every action. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a beacon of light in the lives of those she touched.
Along with her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Alfred Lee Dial and her sister, Marion Thorton. She is survived by her daughter, Penny Dial; son, Allen Dial (Stephanie); grandchildren, Trent Townsend (Dishan), Kaley Bowers (Brian), Sarah Vazquez (Luis); great grandchildren, Colter and Birdie Bowers; sisters, Elaine Harrison, Nettie Morris (Steve), Wanda Kranchich (Blaine), Jenny Sosebee (Ronnie), Barbara Bruce, Judy Aaron (Jerry); brother, Jeff Goss (Hannah), many nieces, nephews, other family members, and close friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Dial will be held Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 2:00PM at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Sweat officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00PM until 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley at Clegg-Dial Cemetery in Monroe, Georgia following the service.
