Mr. Martin “Leon” Partain, Sr. age 92, of Hoschton passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020. He was born in Thomaston, Georgia and grew up in Porterdale. Mr. Partain was Baptist by faith and when he was able, he was a very active member of Faith Baptist Church; he also attended and was active in the ministry at Harmony Baptist Church. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Partain enjoyed fishing, he loved to travel to the beach and the mountains and nothing made him happier than being with his family.
Mr. Partain was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Partain, his sister Caroline Blackmon, and his brother Douglas Partain, Jr. He is survived by his children Gail Hildebrand (Brian), Janice Bedoya, Laura Roberson (Claude), Jennifer Wonson (David), and Martin Partain, Jr. his grandchildren Michael Herren, Joe Herren, Jason Hildebrand, Rhonda Carter, Audrey Baker, Eddie Baker, Adrienne Brown, Wayne Chapman, Todd Chapman, Ricky Strickland, Chris Strickland and Michael Huff. Mr. Partain is also survived by his 20 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren along with numerous other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Partain will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. J.C.
