Martin "Marty" Kirkland

Mr. Martin "Marty" Kirkland, age 47, passed away on December 28, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, ingenuity, and a life rich with passion and enthusiasm. Born on July 1, 1977, Marty was a man who embraced life’s adventures with a playful spirit and a kind heart.

Marty was the beloved son of Janelle Christian and the late Collis Kirkland, and stepson to the late Art Christian. Marty's familial bonds were strong; he was a cherished brother to Kenneth Kirkland and his wife Melissa, Katie Faykosh and her husband Kenny, Barbara Strange, Lee Christian and his wife Amanda, Adam Christian, Kathy Christian, Shaun Christian, and Barbara Wilson and her husband Charles. He was also a loving father to his adored sons, Caroline and Conner Kirkland. Marty was predeceased by his father, stepfather, sister Angela Sartin, brother Joe Christian whose memories he held close to his heart.

Marty was an avid gamer, he could often be found with a controller in hand, immersed in worlds of fantasy and strategy. His love for gaming was more than a pastime; it was a way for him to connect with others, to challenge his mind, and to relax after a hard day's work. Marty's career as a tow truck driver was a source of pride and fulfillment. He took great satisfaction in helping those in distress, bringing not just his skills but also his comforting presence to every roadside assistance call.

Possessing a natural talent for mechanics, Marty found joy in taking apart and working on computers. His dexterity and technical acumen were not just hobbies but also acts of love. Building models was another of Marty's meticulous pursuits, through which he expressed his attention to detail and patience.

In recent years, Marty had begun to explore the ancient craft of forging. This new venture allowed him to express his creativity. Marty had a knack for creating beautiful and functional pieces that were admired by all who saw them.

Not only skilled with his hands, Marty was also a great cook. His culinary delights were the centerpiece of many family gatherings, and his loved ones will fondly remember the joy and deliciousness he brought to their tables.

Marty's presence was a beacon of light and laughter in the lives of those who knew him. His absence will be deeply felt by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him during his journey through life.

A Memorial Service will be at 3:00PM on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at NEW LIFE Praise Center with Justin Adams officiating.
