Mary (Bullard) Brown

Mrs. Mary Mozell Bullard Brown, age 87, of Eatonton, Georgia formerly of Ellijay passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.  She was born September 7, 1933 in Du Pont, Georgia to Ferman and Bessie Lee Bullard who have preceded her in death.  The family moved to Atlanta when Mary was 14.  She graduated from Russell High School and attended secretarial school in Atlanta.  She began her career as a clerical worker for Southern Railway. While working at Southern Railway she met and married Robert Brown.  Mary became a housewife and the best cook in the south! No one could eat just one of her biscuits. She owned and operated a women’s clothing boutique in Riverdale Georgia for about five years, before moving to Ellijay Georgia. Her husband, Robert, predeceased her in 1998 after a battle with cancer. Mary loved the mountains of North Georgia and was able to live next door to her sister.  Mary was a member of Cartacay Baptist Church and had a wonderful church family. Both Mary and her sister, Elizabeth, moved to Eatonton to be near her daughter Alacia.  During that time Mary had several health issues that placed her in a full-time nursing facility in December of 2020.  She will always be remembered by her friends and family for her kind and giving heart and her quick wit.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her children; Alacia Brown Zehmer (Bill), and Stanley Brown (Becky) her four grandchildren, Nathan, Olivia, Maddie and Callie her great grandchild, Rhett along with many other family members and close friends. She will be greatly missed. Because of Covid-19, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
