Mr. Bobby Evans Almand, known affectionately as Mr. Bobby, passed away on August 1, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on December 21, 1934, to the late Henry and Lillian Almand, Mr. Bobby lived a full life marked by dedication to his family, faith, work, and community.
As a proud graduate of Georgia Tech, while on a full football scholarship, Mr. Bobby earned a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, that would lay the foundation for a successful career. He became the esteemed owner of Almand Corrosion Control, where he was recognized as an expert and consultant in his field. His professional accomplishments were many, but he was equally known for his integrity and mentorship to those who worked alongside him.
A true family man, Mr. Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Ann Almand, and their children: Joy McMillan, Juli Sharple (Philip), Jill Benson (Mickey), and Morgan Williams (Trina). His legacy of love and guidance continues through his cherished grandchildren Lindsey Carreker, Melanie Vance, Andrea Vance, Jamie Leakey (Adam), Brett Benson, Britt Williams, Jonathan Williams, and Morgan Ayers (David), as well as his eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Bobby also leaves behind his brother Henry Almand (Martha), sisters-in-law Delores Almand and Glenda Almand, and numerous adoring nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers W.L Almand, Glen Almand, and Avery Almand.
Mr. Bobby's zest for life was evident in his passion for sports and the outdoors. He was very athletic and played football at Georgia Tech for the legendary Bobby Dodd showcasing his athletic prowess. His love for his girls led him to start an all-girls softball league which was a testament of his commitment to empowering youth and fostering team spirit.
He and his wife, Ann, shared a love for exploration and adventure, traveling the world together. One of their most memorable journeys was taking their RV through the vast landscapes of Alaska, Canada, and the Grand Canyon embracing the beauty of nature and the thrill of discovery.
As a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Mr. Bobby's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He served as a leader within the church community, embodying the values of compassion and service that he held so dear.
Mr. Bobby's warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support made him a mentor and friend to many. His impact on the lives of those he touched is immeasurable, and his memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Bobby will be at 3:00PM, Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Pastors Carl Reimold and Tyrone Barnett officiating. Interment will be at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00PM until 3:00PM at the church prior to the service.
