Mr. Earl Anglin Obituary

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Dedicated Public Servant

Mr. Earl Anglin, age 87, of Newborn, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Earl was born on July 12, 1938, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Joe and Lillian Anglin. He grew up in Atlanta and later in Buffalo, New York. Earl’s sense of duty and service to his country began early—he first joined the Army National Guard and, shortly thereafter, transferred to the United States Navy.

Following his military service, Earl worked as a fireman with the City of Decatur Fire Department before embarking on a distinguished 31-year career with the Dekalb County Police Department, ultimately retiring with honor as a Lieutenant. He was deeply respected by colleagues and the community he served, known for his integrity, dedication, and leadership.

Above all, Earl was a devoted family man. He cherished the time spent with his beloved wife, Dolly Anglin, and their children and grandchildren. Family trips and countless vacations to Disney World were among his greatest joys, creating treasured memories that will live on in the hearts of those he loved. Earl also found happiness in working on projects around the house, tending to his garden, and relaxing with a good western film.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lillian Anglin; his daughter, Penny Anglin; his granddaughter, Gwendolyn Fowler; his sister and brother-in-law, Ginny and George Southard; and his brother, J.J. Anglin.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Dolly Anglin; his children: Mickey Anglin, Greg Anglin, Mark Anglin (Linda), Stephanie Fowler (Brad), Amanda Flood (Charles), Michael Maddox (Mendy), Ricky Hillan, Michele Kenneweg, Jeremiah Anglin, and Cameron Anglin; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; his brother, Clifford Anglin; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and countless close friends who will miss him dearly.
