Mrs. Cathy Mitchell Collins

Mrs. Catherine Mitchell Collins, age 80, of Athens, Georgia passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 peacefully at Haven Memory Care surrounded by loved ones. She was born on October 19, 1943 in Decatur, Georgia to James and Ruby Mitchell who have preceded her in death. Cathy graduated from Smith High School in Atlanta, Georgia where she was a majorette and cheerleader. She married Billy Collins and remained happily married for 62 years with a beautiful family. Cathy would have spent all her time in a nursery surrounded by children if she could. She was a patriotic woman and very proud of her country. Cathy played tennis, loved Elvis, enjoyed ceramics and bowling. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church of Eatonton for 15 years. Along with her parents, Cathy is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Collins and her brother, James “Bubba” Mitchell.

Mrs. Catherine Collins is survived by her husband, Billy Collins; children, Robin Stone (Rodney), Wendy Collins, Holly McCulloch (Will), Brook Collins (Katie); grandchildren, Colby and Hayden Stone, Elizabeth and Annabelle McCulloch, Mack and Jake Collins, nieces, nephews, other family members and close friends.

A private memorial service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in memory of Mrs. Catherine Collins to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Her family will be receiving visitors at their home Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 11:00AM until 2:00PM.
