Mrs. Charlotte Johnson

Mrs. Charlotte Johnson, age 87, a lifelong resident of Covington passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024.  She was born January 10, 1937 to Nathan and Willie Mae Bellew Johnson who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Johnson was retired from Smurfit Container and also was a caregiver and CNA at Riverside Nursing Home.  She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and she loved fishing.  Mrs. Johnson was a quilt maker and a seamstress. She was a longtime member of Lifepointe Church of the Nazarene.  Along with her parents Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband Ernest L. Johnson; her sons Randy Johnson, and Ernie Johnson. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Linda Johnson of Covington; her daughter Angela Newkirk of Madison; her sister Wilma Womack; her brother and sister-in-law Rodney and Nancy Johnson; her 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many close friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 3 o’clock Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the Lifepointe Church of the Nazarene with Pastors Donnell and CJ Bethea officiating.  Interment will follow at Covington City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday prior to the service.
