Mrs. Clara Glanton, peacefully passed away on March 1, 2025, in Covington, GA, at the age of 84. Born on April 22, 1940, in Autreyville, GA, Clara lived a life marked by kindness, passion, and dedication to the people and pursuits she loved.
A graduate of Newton County High School, she served her community working as a probation officer with Newton County, where her empathy and firm guidance touched many lives. Clara brought the same level of commitment and enthusiasm to her personal interests, which included a love for antiquing, crafts, and nurturing her garden, which bloomed as brightly as her buoyant spirit. She was also an avid reader.
Clara's memory will be forever held dear by her loving family, including her devoted children—Scotti Glanton, Shelli Wall (Lance), Sonia Nelson (Tom), and Adam Glanton—as well as several adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sisters, Kaye Walker and Faye Stafford, her brother, Steven Bennett, and will also be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many close friends.
Her reunion with her late husband, Buddy Glanton, and brother, Otis Plymel, promises that her legacy of love and strength will remain in the stories and memories cherished by all who knew her. Clara's beautiful life story will continue to inspire and guide us in the years to come. The family has ask that in lieu of flowers they would like donations to be made to the Georgia Sheriff’s Boy’s Ranch online at https://www.georgiasheriffsyouth.org/donate/ .
