Mrs. Ethel (Rice) Thornton

Mrs. Ethel Rice Thornton, age 39, of Newborn passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024.  She was born on March 5, 1985 in Tucker and grew up in Newborn.  Ethel was a 2003 graduate of Newton County High School.  She worked at Lucy’s in Newborn and was a hard worker who loved to travel, go out to eat, and spend time with her children.  Ethel was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  She is survived by her husband Christopher Thornton; her children Madison, Charlie, Melvin, and Vivian; her parents Don and Wanda Rice; her brother Mack Rice; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members, and many close friends.  The family will plan a service at a later date.
