Mrs. Sandy (Tignor) Slemp

Mrs. Sandy Slemp, age 69, of Covington passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022.  She was born in Lebanon, Virginia on October 15, 1952 to William L. and Dorothy Miller Tignor who have preceded her in death. As a child her father was in the military and Sandy grew up living around the world.  At the age of 14 her family settled in Petersburg, Virginia and she completed her education there.  Mrs. Slemp enjoyed crafts, cooking, traveling to the beach, and NASCAR races, and was always ready to go shopping.  Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Slemp, and her sister Mina Creasman. 

Mrs. Slemp is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Robbie Wilbanks of Covington; her grandchildren Ryan and Makenzie also of Covington; a nephew Jason Gable of Conyers; along with numerous other family members and close friends.

A memorial service will be held at 3 o’clock Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service on Sunday.
