Mr. Neil Richardson, age 78, of Social Circle, Georgia, passed away on May 29, 2026. He was born on May 16, 1948, in Porterdale, Georgia, and lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a warm spirit that touched many along the way.

He was the beloved son of the late Buddy Richardson and Berthalene Richardson. Neil was a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought comfort and strength to those who knew him. He is survived by his children, Sonyanna Hathaway, Chris Richardson and his wife Marilyn, and John Richardson, Jr. and his wife Dawn. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jacob, Austin, Skyler, Luke, Haleigh, Ledger, and Paxton, as well as his great-grandchildren, Blakely, Baylor, and Gatlin. He is also survived by his brother, Randall Richardson and his wife Gelaine, his sister, Karlene Richardson, and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and close friends who will forever hold his memory dear.

Neil dedicated many years of his life to his work and was respected for his strong work ethic and dependable nature. He retired from both Westinghouse and All Phase, where he served as an electrical sales representative. He also owned and operated Covington Auto Sales for many years, building lasting relationships through honesty, perseverance, and a genuine commitment to serving others. His professional life reflected the same integrity and determination that he carried into every part of his life.

Outside of work, Neil enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life meaningful to him. He loved traveling to the beach, spending time at the dog track, and playing golf and poker with friends. These interests brought him joy and relaxation, and they created many fond memories with family and friends over the years. He appreciated good company, a friendly conversation, and the chance to enjoy life’s moments with those around him.

Neil Richardson will be remembered as a man of character, kindness, and quiet strength. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the friendships he formed, and the many lives he influenced through his example. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will remain a source of comfort and gratitude to all who were blessed to know him.

A graveside service for Mr. Richardson will be held at 1 o’clock on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Social Circle City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
