Pamela (Bohannon) Cothran

Mrs. Pamela Bohannon Cothran passed away on September 7, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on January 28, 1952, to the late J.T. and Sarah Bohannon, Pam blossomed into a life that was marked by an unwavering love for her family, a gentle spirit, and an open heart that knew no bounds.

Pam's legacy is carried on by her devoted children: Rick Smith (Marsha), Robin Gilbert (Chad), Cory Cothran, and David Cothran, Jr. (Jessica). She was a cherished grandmother to Brittany Bessiere (Mike), Chase Smith (Shelby), Jesse Gilbert (Caysi), and Logan Gilbert (Bridget), and a doting great-grandmother to Crew Smith, Hunter Bessiere, and Elizabeth Bessiere. Pam's sister, Denise Lynch, and numerous nieces and nephews, also survive her, each of whom meant the world to her.

Her marriage of 27 years to her late husband, David Cothran, Sr., was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they built a family foundation strong enough to outlast the physical presence of any one individual.

Pam was a beacon of kindness in every community she touched. She was the embodiment of the sweetest soul and a great friend to many. Pam never uttered a harsh word nor passed judgment on anyone. Her ability to listen and provide comfort made her a confidant to many.

Pam's love for her family, especially the great-grandbabies, radiated through every aspect of her life. She found joy in the simple things, such as the serene beauty of the beach and the graceful dance of sea turtles in the ocean. Crafting was not just a hobby for Pam; it was a language of love through which she expressed her creativity and shared her warmth with others. Plant shopping with her son Rick was among her cherished moments, as it combined her love for nature with precious family time.

A Memorial Service for Pam will be at 2 o’clock on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Adams officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
