Patricia Taylor Obituary

On November 5, 2020 Patricia Taylor, our beloved Nanny, of Covington, GA passed away peacefully with her daughter and granddaughter by her side.

Words fail us in this difficult time, but we will try to do this amazing woman justice.  Anyone who was blessed enough to have Pat in their life knew what an amazing, loving, and strong woman of faith she was. Pat was born in Miami-Dade County in 1948. She spent most of her childhood in Titusville, FL with her grandparents Robert and Sadie Cobb who preceded her in death. Something she was most proud of was working at Kennedy Space Center in the late 1960s during the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. In 1975 Pat relocated to Georgia where she began a long career in the dump trucking business. She spent 45 years loyally employed with Jimmy Harris Trucking where she touched so many lives and was so deeply loved, but nothing gave her more joy than being our Nanny. From the moment she became a mother in 1969 she devoted everything she had to being the best mother possible. She continued that devotion when she became our Nanny in 1985 when her granddaughter was born, and we were so blessed to have her love and devotion when her great-granddaughters were born in 2006 and 2009. Nanny is survived by her daughter Sonya Hunt, her granddaughter and her husband, Amber and Gino Arteaga, and her precious great-granddaughters Juliana and Lorelei. She is also survived by many dear friends that she regarded as family. While our hearts are certainly broken, we know that our Nanny is so blessed to be with the lord and no longer suffering.  If you feel led to do so in lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Newton County Animal Shelter in her name. Details of a service to follow at a later date.
