Peggy Vanepps Obituary

Peggy Jane Vanepps, aged 87, passed away on March 22, 2026, leaving behind wonderful memories that brightened the lives of all who knew her. Born on April 24, 1938, in Porterdale, Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Jesse James and Louella Martin.

Peggy found her calling in caring for others, she devoted herself to as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Westbury Nursing Home in Conyers. Her warm smile and genuine kindness were a comfort to the many lives she touched during her years of dedicated service. She brought not only medical care but also a sense of friendship to those she helped.

Beyond her professional life, Peggy's enjoyed shopping, finding joy in the simple pleasure of discovering treasures and trinkets. Peggy's nights at the VFW were filled with dancing, laughter, and the company of good friends. In her younger years she was an avid roller skater, gliding with grace and ease, and relished the time she spent outdoors, basking in the beauty of nature. Even simple pleasures like dipping snuff were a testament to Peggy's ability to find happiness in the everyday.

She was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Grady Howard Phelps and her second husband, Robert Vanepps; her loving daughter Bonnie Bailey; and her devoted son Danny Phelps, along with his wife Jennifer survive her along with her grandchildren, Jeremy Burnette, Patrick Burnette, Danny Phelps, Jr., Dede Phelps, ang Haleigh Phelps, several great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
