Phyllis (Roper) Irwin

Phyllis Ann Irwin, age 73, of Covington passed away Saturday, June 21, 2020.  She was born November 22, 1946 in Atlanta to Marvin and Jessie Catherine Roper who have preceded her in death.  Ms. Irwin was a graduate of Cross Keys High School.  During her career she worked as a bank teller and then for DePuy Ortho Medical for 21 years.  Following her retirement, she was able to become a pet sitter a job she thoroughly loved. 

Ms. Irwin enjoyed music, going to concerts, watching movies, being with her friends, and travel, she loved England and traveled there several times.  Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Marvin Roper, Jr. 

Ms. Irwin is survived by her daughter Kellie Stevens and her husband Brian Henze of Hawaii, her grandson Mitchell Stevens of Athens, her brother Morris Roper of Chamblee, her sisters Sherry Poole and her husband David of Greenville and Jennie Roper of Grayson along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.  No services are planned at this time.
