Ricky Hallford, 68, of Pace, Florida, passed away Monday, December 22, 2025, in Conyers, Georgia, surrounded by his family.
Ricky was born on March 7, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his life partner of 43 years, Danny Callahan (affectionally known as Dano), his parents, Amos Carl and Mary Jo (Alexander) Hallford and brother Raymond Carl Hallford. Survivors include sisters Cheryl and Lamar Knight of Conyers, GA, Michele and Albert Morvik of Mansfield, GA, and brother Randy and Tonya Hallford of Oxford, GA, Aunt Linda Gunn of Griffin, GA, Aunt Betty Alexander of Conyers, GA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A beach lover at heart, he left Georgia for Florida seeking the perfect tropical home soon after graduating from Newton County Comprehensive Highschool in 1975. Ricky was always ready to accept visiting family members and show them the sights of Daytona Beach, Pompano Beach or St. George Island.
He was an accomplished florist whose countless artistic arrangements helped express the pure love of a wedding or the solace of final farewells. He produced truly amazing bouquets, centerpieces, sprays and corsages.
A lifelong pet owner, he had a deep bond with all animals who were naturally attracted to and at ease with him, sensing his caring personality. Animals seemed to understand that they were safe and secure with him. He never met a critter that didn’t like him.
Ricky was a Christian who loved the Lord and had a kind gentle soul who was always available and willing to help his family and friends out at moment’s notice. His independent free spirit and determination to live life on his own terms was an example for his younger siblings. He will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege to know him.
The world was a better place with our big brother in it.
