Robert "Gene" Eugene Mann

Mr. Robert Eugene “Gene” Mann, age 72, of Rutledge passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023.  He was born June 13, 1951 in Jackson and grew up in Covington.  Mr. Mann was a mechanic and worked for Covington Ford and T.K. Tire and Auto.  He enjoyed NASCAR, Football, softball, baseball, drag racing, tinkering, being outside, and nothing made him happier than when he became a grandfather.  Mr. Mann enjoyed spending time with his family immensely and fishing. He was a very proud American and supported our military and loved Christmas and Independence Day.

Mr. Mann was preceded in death by his parents Hoke and Runell Mann; and his daughter Renee Shelnutt.  He is survived by his wife Sallie Frix Mann; his daughter Michelle Harvey of Bishop; his son Michael Mann and Michael’s fiancé Katie Johnson of Rutledge; his grandchildren Kimberly, Matthew, Dylan, Madison, Kaitlyn, and Riley; his great grandchildren Gracie and Weston; along with numerous other family members and many close friends.  No services are planned at this time.
