Ronnie Hutchens

Mr. Ronnie Hutchens, age 57, of Watkinsville passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020.  He was born March 30, 1963 in Newnan Georgia to Thomas Jackson and Doris Elayne Lowery Hutchens who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Hutchens grew up in Newnan and Conyers, he was a graduate of Rockdale High School and went on to earn his Associates Degree from South University in Savannah.  Mr. Hutchens was a UGA football fan and loved guns.  He was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and worked for Clyde’s Armory.  Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his nephew Brian Hutchens and his niece Jennifer Dewberry.

Mr. Hutchens is survived by his wife Donna Long Hutchens, his puppy “Nipsy”, his sisters Connie Reynolds and her husband Randy of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Donna Page and her husband Sean of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Jayne Carmichael and Tom Zurzolo of Clermont, Georgia along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Hutchens will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Covington Fellowship Hall with Dr. Don Long and Pastor Doug Nix officiating.  Interment will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, GA 30606.  The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, June 19, 2020.  In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Prince Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund, 2131 Ruth Jackson Rd. Bogart, GA 30622.
