Sandra (Henderson) Vaughn

Mrs. Sandra Vaughn, a cherished soul renowned for her loving nature, kind heart, and creative spirit, peacefully passed away on April 4, 2025. Born on November 30, 1945, in Porterdale, she was the treasured daughter of the late Ralph and Sara Henderson, and beloved sister to the late Jennifer Wilson Martin.

Sandra, a graduate of Avondale High School, dedicated many years of her life to C.R. Bard and greatly enjoyed the time she spent working at the gift shop of the Blue Willow Inn. Both in her professional and personal endeavors, Sandra was known as a hard worker whose hands were often seen expressing her passion and talent in decorating.

She was the heart of her family, the loving wife of Tip Vaughn for 60 years, and the proud mother of Rhonda Hull (Jimbo) of Buckhead, Angela Strawn (Vance) of Madison, and Ashley Vaughn (Linda) of Watkinsville. Sandra's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren Lindsey Chambers (Drew), Samuel Vaughn (Katie), Trey Hull (Anna), Caitlin Shelnutt (Denver), Madelyn Vaughn, Logan Hull (Sarah), Landon Vaughn, and Leyton Hull, as well as her adored great-grandchildren Willow Grace Vaughn, Amelia Lenette Shelnutt, Beckham James Hull, and Matthew Dean Hull, and her sister Sarita Stewart (R.G.).

As a pillar of her community, Sandra was a dedicated member of New Life Apostolic Church in Watkinsville. She was a gift to many, with her generosity extending far beyond family – she held a special place in her heart for her numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of close friends whom she treated as her own.

A wonderful caregiver and mentor to all, Sandra will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a beacon of love and support. Her light, though no longer present on this Earth, continues to shine brilliantly in the memories of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

A funeral service for Mrs. Vaughn will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Ashley Vaughn officiating.  Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Tuesday prior to the service.  J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
