Scot Fincher, age 58, of Covington passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020. He was born in Covington on May 8, 1962. Scot was a graduate of Newton County Comprehensive High School. Following high school, he went to Georgia Southern and Griffin Tech. Scot was a trainer for Chris 180 who provide group homes and care for traumatized children. He was a member and Chaplin of Covington Elks Lodge and was very active in his church Hapeville United Methodist Church and his home church Starrsville United Methodist Church. Scot was preceded in death by his father Charles Gary Fincher and is survived by his mother Theresa Parker of Covington, “Mama Jr” Pamela Fincher of Covington, his sister Paige Fincher Gorman (Chris) of Cumming, his step sisters Karen Parker Nixdorf and Debra Parker Cook along with numerous other family and close friends. A Celebration for Scot will be held this fall at the Covington Elks Lodge.
