Mrs. Sharon Cooper, age 58, of Covington passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021. She was born July 4, 1962 in Atlanta to James and Frances Minor who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Cooper grew up in Jonesboro and was a 1980 graduate of Jonesboro High School. She was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Covington and grew up attending St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in McDonough. Mrs. Cooper was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved her family very much and cherished the time she spent with them. Sherri enjoyed swimming in the pool with her grandchildren, and going to the beach. She also enjoyed cooking and preparing the most delicious meals for countless family gatherings throughout the years. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Alex Cooper, in 2013.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her husband Andy Cooper; her son and daughter-in-law Andrew, Jr and Amanda Cooper of Roswell; her grandchildren Everett and Warren; her sister Margaret Head of Fayetteville; her brother and sister-in-law Mike and Peggy Minor along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at St. Philip Benizi, 591 Flint River Road, Jonesboro, GA 30238 with Father John Koziol officiating. A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 5:30pm at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. Following the Rosary, the family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday. J.C. Due to the COVID 19/Coronavirus Pandemic all Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requirements will be followed. There is a limit of 50 people at any large gathering, social distancing must be recognized, the use of a mask is encouraged, and most importantly if you feel sick or have any symptoms of COVID 19 you will not be allowed to attend the service.
