Tim Shannon

Mr. Tim Shannon, age 59, of Walnut Grove passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023.  He was born July 10, 1963 in Rockdale County and grew up in Covington.  Tim attended Newton County High School; he enjoyed fishing and a good drink.  Tim was preceded in death by his father Albert Shannon and his girlfriend Speedy Cantrell.  He is survived by his mother Brenda Spivey of Covington; his children Jonathan and Amy Roberts of Covington, Amber Elias of Waycross, Ashley Shannon of Waycross, Christy and David Jones of Walnut Grove; his grandchildren Katie, Kayla, Breanna, Christopher, Jailynn, Haley, Blake, and Abby; his great grandchildren Bryson and Kolten; his siblings Dianne Hughes, Tina Clark, Karen Clark, Joseph McCallie, and Benjamin McCallie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Shannon will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service of Thursday.  J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
