Toby Roberta Thorner, 82, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, with her family by her side. Born on December 28, 1942, in New York, Toby lived a full life, making her homes in South Florida and Georgia.

Toby is survived by her family: Jacalyn Murray, Lisa Gunthorp, Michelle and Stephen Johnston. She was the proud grandmother of Rebecca and Stephen Rushing, Emily Johnston, Ryan and Sydney Johnston, Wyatt and Taylor Gunthorp, Lena Gunthorp and Jad Street, and Cole Murray. She was also the cherished great-grandmother of Stephen “Hodge” Rushing. Toby is survived by her sister, Irma Gebel.

A celebration of Toby’s life will be held at a later date with family and close friends. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these services.
