Victoria (Goransky) Kollar

Mrs. Victoria Kollar, age 93, of Covington passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021.  She was born September 14, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York to Vincent and Elizabeth Goransky who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Kollar worked with the Army and Airforce Exchange where supplies and needed items were distributed to service men and women worldwide.  She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed needle work; however, her passion in life was found when she began working with special needs children.  Mrs. Kollar worked countless hours and gave of herself to the point that her efforts brought her recognition from The American Retardation Association.  She was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church.  A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend she will be greatly missed.  Along with her parents Mrs. Kollar was preceded in death by her husband John Kollar, and her daughter Lea Ann Kollar.  She is survived by her daughter Lorraine Brown (Ronnie); her grandchildren David Kollar (Connie), Kristine Murrell (Jim Hickey), and Jamie Brown (Jimmy Harglerode); great grandson Garrett Murrell.  Graveside services will be held Friday, December 31, 2021 at 2 o’clock at Lawnwood Memorial Park with Reverend Jamie Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.lbda.org.   

Governor Brian Kemp has lifted the restrictions for large gatherings and other recommendations throughout Georgia.  However, we ask that you still be respectful of the family and others during this time. If you are sick, not feeling well, or have any symptoms of COVID 19, please do not attend the service or services.  If you feel the need to wear a mask, please do so.
