William "Barry" Lane

William Barry Lane left this world on May 10, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on February 15, 1953, Barry lived a life marked by passion, dedication, and the love of those who knew him best. He was a man whose hands were often marked by the day's work.

Barry was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Lane, his father and stepmother, WJ Lane and Janet, and his sister, Teresa Vaughn. He is survived by his loving wife, Jennie Lane. His legacy continues through his loving children, Scott Lane and his wife Jennifer, Tiffany Loveless and her husband Grant, Mandy Morgan and her husband RJ, Brandy Ralston and her husband Kenneth, and Michael Moore, his cherished grandchildren, Karra Lane, Chloe Allen, Tyler Morgan, Kyle Morgan, Alyxis Morgan, and Teagon and Aubrie Ralston.

A lifelong mechanic, Barry possessed an innate understanding of the machines he worked on. His career was not just a job but a calling. Many decades ago the family opened Lane's Body Shop which quickly became known for its superb craftsmanship and honest service. Barry poured his heart into his business, and through it, he forged lasting relationships with his customers and his community. His work ethic and integrity were the cornerstones of his success, and his shop stands as a testament to his life's work.

Barry’s passion for mechanics began at the tender age of twelve, and it was a flame that never dimmed. Beyond the garage, Barry had an unwavering love for the outdoors. Fishing was a pastime that brought him peace and a sense of connection to the natural world. His love for adventure extended to the open road, where he experienced true freedom atop his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

As we say goodbye to William Barry Lane, we celebrate a life well-lived. His memory will be carried in the hearts of those who loved him, in the hum of engines he brought back to life, and in the calm of the lakes where he once cast his line. Barry's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but the impact of his life will continue to ripple through the generations.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at a later date. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with the services.
