Mr. William R. “Pete” Scott Sr., age 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Born on March 21, 1955, in Fort Stewart, Georgia, Pete was the beloved son of the late Ralph and Annette Scott. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Lora Baize Scott; his devoted son, Bobby Lee Scott; his brother, Bobby Darrell Scott; and his sister, Barbara Ann Alderman.
Pete grew up in the heart of South Georgia, where he developed a lifelong passion for the great outdoors. Starting at an early age, he joined his father on hunting trips—a tradition that he lovingly continued with his own sons over the years. His love of hunting and fishing became a defining aspect of his life, providing countless memories shared with family and friends.
A dedicated and hardworking man, Pete owned and operated Bulldawg Fence Company for many years. His commitment to quality and service was evident in all that he did.
Pete is survived by his son, William R. Scott, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Edinburg, Texas; grandchildren, Robert Scott of Covington, Georgia, and Francisca Cantu of Edinburg, Texas; his brother, Ralph B. Scott, Jr. (Karen) of Warthen, Georgia; his sister, Terrie Dechard (Harold) of Talmo, Georgia; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many close friends who will miss his warmth, wisdom, and humor.
Pete’s legacy lives on through the stories, traditions, and values he shared with those he loved. He will be remembered for his devotion to family, his generous spirit, and his love of nature.
A memorial service to honor Pete’s life will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM prior to the service.

Pete will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
