Yvonne (Harris) Shaw

Ms. Yvonne Shaw, 72 was called home from Piedmont Newton, Covington, Georgia on Thursday, December 28, 2023.  Yvonne is survived by her mother Mollie; her siblings Patsy, Jean, Michael, Christopher and Kevin; her children Shawn, Lavonne, Cory and Lavetta; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father Richard; her brother Bruce, and sister Deborah.

Yvonne was born September 17, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York to Richard Harris and Mollie Harris.  She graduated college from Staten Island University.  She retired in 2006 from Sunny Downstate Research Foundation from her career in the human resources department.  In her spare time Yvonne liked to shop online, play games and being around her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Yvonne was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She will truly be missed.

Funeral services for Ms. Shaw will be held at 2 o’clock Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating.  Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.  Repass will follow at the family residence.  J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
