Larry Brooks

Mr. Larry Brooks, age 80, of Covington passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024.  He was born April 5, 1943 in Rome, Georgia to Leslie and Marie Brooks who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Brooks grew up in Summerville, Alabama and enjoyed sports, fishing, socializing, and loved Georgia Tech.  He was a loving and kind man who referred to his grandchildren as squirt.  Mr. Brooks was a Master Mason and a member of Pace Lodge #558 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his grandson Timothy Bailey, and his wife Brenda Gann.

Mr. Brooks is survived by his children Angie Williams of Covington, Sheryl Spencer (Shane) of Covington, and Felicia Jackson (Keith) of Norman Park, Georgia; his 9 grandchildren; his 12 great grandchildren; his brother Howard Brooks (Cheryl) of Roswell; his sister Kathy Klingman (Gerry) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many close friends.

Funeral Services for Mr. Brooks will be held at 2 o’clock on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Crossroads Baptist Church, 227 Hwy 229, Social Circle, GA 30025 with Pastor Edward Wilkerson officiating.  The family will receive friends during a reception following the service at the church.
