Mrs. Charlotte Roquemore Epps, age 93, of Mansfield passed away Monday, August 21, 2017.  She was born in Mansfield on May 19, 1924 to Claudius Eugene “Gene Hat” and Annie Maude Greer Roquemore who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Epps grew up in Mansfield and graduated from Mansfield High School.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Covington.  Charlotte was an Army wife, who raised five children while moving around the world with her husband the late Colonel Jones Newton Epps.  She enjoyed traveling, gardening and loved to spend time with her family and friends.  Charlotte had an extraordinary ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, and made life-long friends in an instant. She was sincerely interested in every person she met, and always made a lasting impression with her contagious smile, uncanny optimism, uplifting sense of humor, and exceptional sense of style.  Charlotte inspired us all to care deeply, to love others unconditionally, and to live life to the fullest. She was truly one in a million.

Mrs. Epps was preceded in death by her husband; Col. Jones Newton Epps, her sons; Jones Newton Epps, Jr. and Joseph Eugene “Gene” Epps along with her brother; Jack G. Roquemore.  She is survived by her children; Julianne (Julie) Epps, Susan Epps, Josh and Corazon Epps, Betti and Corb Hankey her grandchildren; Charlotte and Wade Berry, Elizabeth and Chris Caldwell, Laurel and Robert Jones, Rachel and Duncan Spears, Joshua Epps-Forst, Kayla Epps her great grandchildren; Carson Berry, MacKenzie Berry and Ashlyn Berry, Davis Caldwell, Wesley Caldwell, Lane Caldwell, Brent Barger, Charlotte Spears and Ellie Spears along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
