Clifford Ellis

Mr. Clifford Ellis, age 67, a lifelong resident of Oxford passed away October 15, 2017.  He was born in Atlanta on June 29, 1950 to Wales and Helen Ellis who have preceded him in death.  Clifford was a 1968 graduate of Newton High School.  He built homes in and around Newton County for many years.  Clifford was also known as a “Professional Tinkerer”; he could work on anything from arts and crafts to Hot Rod cars he worked on it all.  Mr. Ellis loved to travel; going on many cruises with his family and friends and camping.  He also was a member of the Oxford City Council and was a long time member of the Oxford Volunteer Fire Department.  Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Allen Ellis on August 28, 2016.  He is survived by his children, Tony and Gina Ellis, Thomas and Anjela Ellis; his grandchildren, TJ, Britney and Kelsey; his friend, Francis Allgood along with nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  A memorial graveside service for both Clifford and Marie will be held at a later date.  The family has asked for no flowers please.  Donations may be made to Julia A.
