I was reading through the obituary and wanted to add to the survivors, I was her sister-in-law, even though I always considered her a friend. Also surviving are a niece Minda Sue Boesling Hohl and her husband Mike, Indianapolis, IN. and a nephew Kirk Edward Boesling, Defiance, Ohio. Her friend and mother-in-law Grace L. Myers, was a very good friend with her mother Esther. They loved to go out to eat and shop together. We miss the communication with her. Peace to Ruth and her family!!

We just received a note from Wayne letting us know Ruth had passed away in March, 2017;
What a shock! She was my sister-in-law and remained in contact with my mother Grace Myers until mom passed in 2002. Ruth was a very special person who cared so deeply. She wrote to mom once a week with all the news. Her notes were always hand written and on beautiful stationary. Gifts were sent when appropriate and you knew she always put such thought into them. If anyone could contact us and let us know what happened, if she had been sick, had a heart attack or what? I, myself am dealing with health issues and would just like to know what caused her death. I was just going through my mom's papers last week and come across some notes from Ruth, I had been tempted to throw them away, someone had talked about cleaning out things and I just couldn't bring myself to get rid of them. That's why that room gets smaller and smaller and it takes me longer and longer to look for something! Our condolences to you all and if anyone has anything to send, it can be sent to 103 Northfield, Defiance, Ohio 43512, or email at boesling@defnet.com. I did miss seeing pictures of Freddie, if anyone wants to continue sending I would appreciate! John & Evelyn Boesling

Ruth was the best kind of character in Newborn - she SHOWED UP - for watering trees, for town council, for the Newborn Area Heritage Trust, for the Library, for hot dog grilling, for "happy hours," whenever help was needed, she showed up with a smile and got the job done.  Her passing leaves a big hole in our town - and in our hearts.

Ruth is gone from our lives much too soon but is in a better place. She lived on my street when we were growing up and we spent countless hours together. I've been shedding tears since I heard about her death. Ruth was a blessing to so many and will be missed.

I will miss Ruth so very much. She was a wonderful and caring person, who was always there with a listening ear and encouraging words. The Town of Newborn will not be the same without this wonderful woman. I will miss seeing her at Town Hall, miss seeing her grilling hot dogs at Arbor Day, miss seeing her doing all she did to help at the festivals in Newborn. God Bless You Dear Ruth. You will be missed. You are loved.
